Peptide Therapy

PEPTIDES

There is no doubt that peptides are the in-vogue topic in the wellness and biohacking space.

We’ve been using signaling peptides for many years, but it seems like only in the recent past that they have risen to awareness in the optimization space. I dare say, they have not only arrived on the scene of mainstream medicine, but they are also on its cutting edge. Peptides represent a method by which we can truly individualize medical therapy.

WHAT IS A PEPTIDE?

By definition, a peptide is simply a short chain of amino acids – 2 to 50 amino acids, to be exact. Unless, of course, you happen to be the FDA and then peptides can only contain up to 40 amino acids as of 2019 when their definition of ‘amino acid’ changed…lots of that happening these day - a topic for another day.

Peptides are the basic building blocks of proteins, and they have the ability to target specific pathways in the body and in so doing, regulate their function. Unlike drugs or hormones, which override and control a system, peptides - more or less - turn up or turn down the volume on specific pathways already operational within the body. Peptides have demonstrated a tremendously beneficial and overwhelmingly safe interventional role in anti-aging.

WHAT DO PEPTIDES DO?

Very simply, peptides tell your body what to do.  With over 7000 sequenced peptides, it is difficult to summarize their power in influencing human physiology and revolutionizing the wellness space.

Broadly speaking, peptides do pretty much everything. Think of them as conductors of the human symphony. They specifically touch pathways that control healing, inflammation, immune system function, sleep, cognition, metabolism, endocrine activity, body composition, hair growth, skin elasticity, strength, stamina, bone density - pretty much the entirety of human physiology. Therapy with peptides provides a way to safely and smartly intervene in the efficiency with which our bodies are operating – and simply make them work better.

ARE PEPTIDES NATURAL?

Some peptides are naturally present in the body – like collagen, creatine, and insulin.  Others are synthesized fragments or derivates of naturally occurring peptides – like BPC-157, TB-500, TA1, and GLP-1 agonists.

WHAT ARE PEPTIDE BIOREGULATORS?

Why are some people barely fortunate enough to see an age even close to 80, while others sail easily close to 120? That’s 40 extra years! How is that possible?  Well…I’m glad that you asked.

Longevity has been a hot topic among leading scientist in recent years. Why do we age? Do we need to? How can we stop it? Is aging treatable?

Bioregulators may be an integral part of that discussion. Peptide bioregulators are extremely short chain peptides (sometimes just 2 amino acids long). This is a fun fact because short chains are less likely to cause immune system disruption than longer chain peptides, short chains more easily penetrate tissues, and most importantly, short chains can enter the nucleus of a cell and interact directly with its DNA.

Peptide bioregulators don’t just adjust pathway volume, they specifically modulate the genes involved in cellular regeneration. They function as cellular mediators to regulate gene expression and protein synthesis.  More specifically, bioregulators modulate EPIGENETICS – not just the genes you inherited, but those genes that are individually expressed and how they work. Short story - Peptide bioregulators do something extremely extraordinary: They stop and repair aging. They prolong human life.

“I believe that aging is a disease. I believe it is treatable. I believe we can treat it within our lifetimes. And in doing so, I believe, everything we know about human health will be fundamentally changed.”
