Growing up on a local family farm, I learned at an early age the importance of work ethic and self-discipline that set the foundation for my education and career.
Driven by a strong interest in healthcare, I began my education at the University of Wisconsin Green Bay where I graduated Summa Cum Laude and earned my Bachelor of Science in Human Biology. My continued interest in nursing led me to pursue and earn my Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree with honors from Bellin College.
While working in the inpatient medical-surgical unit and outpatient gastrointestinal departments as a registered nurse, I continued my education and completed my Master of Science in Nursing degree from Bellin College and became a family Nurse Practitioner.
In my experience in healthcare, I work to provide care for patients with multiple chronic diseases and realized the importance of prevention and optimal treatment for those patients, and developed a passion to prevent these conditions through lifestyle management. I was drawn to the Functional Medicine model because it allows me to focus on optimizing health and wellness as opposed to symptom management. Through this process I work directly with patients to address the root cause of illness including genetics, lifestyle, psychological and physiological factors.
I am excited to be working with Dr. Lindgren and the healthcare professionals at Lindgren Functional Medicine and look forward to helping you reach your health goals.
